At 45, my blood markers indicated a high risk of various health issues. Despite these indicators, I made conscious lifestyle choices that have allowed me to thrive at 58.

I sit with my cup of tea and open the news to catch up what happened in the last three days.
A girl, thirteen, raped. Two people electrocuted in water logged streets. A car crash, and the fault was never his. A man murdered by the woman he was set to marry. A fire in a building too tall for any ladder to reach. And so on…
None of them did anything to deserve this. They just lived their day, like I live mine. Or everyone does.
I close the news and I go back to my life. My tea is still warm. My family is still here. Nothing about today was owed to me.

Indian weddings are a celebration of culture, and every region adds its own unique flavour.
One of my favourite traditions from a Bikaneri wedding is the Talota - a soulful song sung to welcome the groom. It carries generations of pride, warmth and heritage.

That pride runs deep in Bikaner’s history. Founded by Rao Bika, the kingdom emerged as an independent Rathore state and successfully held its own despite the far larger and more powerful kingdom of Jodhpur. According to Bikaner’s royal tradition, Rao Bika also brought with him the Rathore dynastic heirlooms - including the royal gaddi and a revered Ganesh idol - which are still preserved in Junagarh Fort today.

Debt free for the first time since I bought my first car in the mid 90s.
I am debt averse by nature. Every loan for a home or a car came with guilt. Why upgrade if I don’t have the cash.
But the businessman in me knew better. My own money, put to work, earned more than the interest I paid.
Today every car in our garage is fully ours.

Was with few stock market guys this morning over Chai, one guy said ये हमारा earning का नहीं learning का phase है। I so wanted to tell him manufacturing वालों का जीवन भर learning का phase होता है। ३००-४०० unique problems तो ३५ साल के career में जरूर झेल चुका हूँगा मैं। Maybe more.
