@republicdfender@urie_ryan@joncoopertweets I read that Republicans loses in 2018 elections were blamed on lowered income and higher prices caused by the tariffs. And that cost increases from the tariffs undid any advantage people got from the Trump tax cuts.
@Slick_Rick0106@FiveHeadClub@joncoopertweets In a lot of cases, even with Tariffs it’s cheaper to import due to cheaper labor. But the increase in cost will be passed on to customers to maintain profit margins.
@masterschiller@owenjonesjourno It was politically expedient for Netanyahu to have an enemy he could fight to keep getting reelected. It’s why he told people told people Hamas was better than the Palestinian Authority. After October 7 he had to destroy Gaza to stay in power.
@josephattard02@foosnik If it’s slower you have more time to rally the support you need to stop it. With Kamala you have 4 years to get government to change their position. With Trump you have to wait 4 years to start.
@LewStuhl@CDMcKenzy@SabbySabs2 I’d agree with you if Stein’s campaign isn’t explicitly saying the goal of her campaign is to deny Harris the presidency.
I don’t like Harris’ approach to Gaza but I believe she’ll be more persuadable than Trump to do something about it if pushed hard enough.
@JeanGreige We’ve also normalized the trope of the bad guy teaming up with the good guy to destroy the bigger threat. For some Cheney endorsing Harris is a sign of how bad Donnie must be if Cheney is willing to side with Harris without requiring a concession like RFK did.
@anima76 @Hraedon @morallawwithin Democrats move rightward when they lose Presidential elections, so more likely is if Harris loses they suppress anti-Israel support in the party and no one speaks up if/when Israel escalates even further or joins the train if the other world allies start to condemn Israel
@fishontherun2 Stein is supporting a candidate running against Talib who thinks Talib is wrong to be focusing on genocide when local matters are more important
@samavishay@DrewPavlou They had a pleasant, if heavy, interview. Ezra’s main issue was that Coates didn’t go through all the motivations of the Israelis that lead to the West Bank settlement crisis, but acknowledged that Coates has written a super accurate portrayal of the Palestinian West Bank
