@SHD766 When you're this far off the pitch, it should be a 6. It's getting silly now. Might as well start running off the pitch as soon as the player starts swinging

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@mattitude_29 GT and ACC are miles ahead

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@bc_spur_1882 @henrywinter Yeah it's a red because that's the law of the game. But it's too generic, if your going to class that as a violent action then a two handed shove in the chest forcing a man to the floor is also violent conduct

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

Ok, this one surprised me......but he's right

[Mark Goldbridge @markgoldbridge]

Both should get a red for that imo. Shaw shoved him hard to the ground for no reason

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@AlasdairGold If I didn't know any better, I'd think De Zerbi wants to be sacked

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

Very interesting to read his reach isn't as far as some have suggested and that Man City is a drop in the ocean to him as well.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak’s rare mis-step in fighting the PL

“It’s embarrassing the royal family now…There are very clever people involved in Abu Dhabi who I’m led to believe will very strongly counsel this needs to be a quiet retreat”

@andyburnham Thanks Andy

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@fullback03 The Super League was about money, and keeping the rich, rich.
Spurs would be as much a target as Arsenal would be

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@Flav_Bateman Doubt he touches foot in English football again after the City debacle

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@andyburnham How about the trains then? You've 'sorted' the buses but train fares are criminal. I could fly to Scotland for less than the cost of a train.
You want more cars off the road.....get a grip.of the public transport system. Make it more attractive to the regular person

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@talkSPORT It's definitely affects the memory of the moment. It takes nothing away from it happening. But now....it's stained, and has lost its importance to the league

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@themagic_tophat This was an excellent piece.......until you bought Spurs into it. Now it's all rubbish! 🤣

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@Priceless_MCI Yeah, that is the very definition of the term Sports Washing.

Lance Armstrong was an innocent man, should have overlooked his doping enterprise to keep him at the top just because he set up a Cancer Charity.

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@Yardgooner @draper_rob @Lawton_Times They have grounds to apply for an appeal if they believe there is an element the IC wrongly interpreted the evidence. The appeals board would then agree or disagree as to whether there was any element that hadn't been fully covered in City's defence of this fact

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@YBaba_kes @JacobsBen @SeanJHayes All evidence has been produced. You can't bring new evidence to an appeal.

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@LFCBrief @JacobsBen If it's come from a Public Source then it becomes a grant rather than a private capital payment. Grants are completely different and would not be a breach of PSR

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@DeadlineDayLive So..........this is evidence that was already issued and presumably dismissed then. They'll need a good reason to prove that the commission made a mistake with this evidence.

[Henry Winter @henrywinter]

“I would be really concerned to lose them.” Prime Minister Andy Burnham on the possibility of Manchester City’s owners selling up. What?! These are owners found guilty of serial breaches of the Premier League rule-book by three judges on an independent commission after a lengthy investigation. Owners who outraged other clubs and countless fans by flouting the rules and inflating sponsorship income with the Disguised Funding Scheme.

Owners who misled auditors and regulators, who threaten to bring this Premier League season – and, potentially, future seasons - to a standstill by their appeal, deny, delay tactics. Owners who are patently not proper custodians of a famous, historic club. Owners who many hope will sell up and ship out after bringing such shame and sham contracts to the game.

So these are astonishing, alarming comments from the PM. “I do actually thank the City Football Group and the wider ownership for the money that they didn't just put into the Etihad and the campus around it but also into the city," Burnham told the BBC’s Chris Mason.

Come on, PM. Read the room. Read the commission’s report. Read the belligerent statements from the Abu Dhabi owners and their chief executive like Ferran Soriano. Rather than thank CFG, perhaps thank the diligence of the Premier League in seeking to enforce its rules and protect the national sport. Perhaps thank the three judges for their pain-staking work in sifting through reams of evidence and coming to their considered conclusion.

Burnham spoke as a politician seemingly with one eye on diplomatic and trade links. He spoke as a former mayor whose city benefited from investment in east Manchester by Abu Dhabi. “They've been such a huge partner in the building of modern Manchester and obviously the building of Manchester City into the global force that it is.” And how was that building financed?

Burnham spoke as a politician and not the football fan that he truly is. The lifelong Evertonian is usually pretty sound on football matters. He misread the mood of many fans not wanting the possible return of drinking in Premier League stands but that was a rare misstep. This is far worse. This makes him look out of touch with the prevailing mood. He was speaking at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Maybe he should head to Anfield on Sunday week and witness the anger felt towards City.

Burnham did add that he wasn’t getting involved in the process and that City had a right to appeal if they felt harshly treated. But how does the PM’s sympathetic words for controversial owners help the independent football regulator charged by Government with leading the fight against those who risk the credibility of their club, who play fast and loose with the rules and who damage the integrity of the national sport?

How frustrating if Burnham’s words embolden City's owners and Soriano further. Bit of an own goal by No 10.

[Nick Holman @Sandhurst_Spurs]

@themagic_tophat This statement stinks of political interference. Let's distance the main guy away from it and blame it on a rogue cartel that the chief had no knowledge of. Protects the 'relationship' between the governments
