@roberthenryjohn State pensions will still continue to rise at generous levels. The Triple Lock was brought in to be a temporary measure to give the state pension a lift. It did its job but it's now unsustainable to keep raising it at such high levels.

@andyburnham Its not stealing from pensioners. They will still receive very generous pay rises and, when they need care, they won't have to sell their homes and ransack their savings to pay for it. It's investing for the future with an ever growing elderly population.

It's immoral to do nothing as the elderly population increases, whilst leaving younger generations to carry the burden. Pensioners will still receive very generous pay rises with the new plan.

@KieranGreen2003 Isn't it best to have conversations over this issue rather than ignoring it completely. Nothing will change on the Triple Lock until after the next election, and even then pensioners will still continue to receive generous rises funded by current tax payers.

@KieranGreen2003 Give it time as the government awaits the Louise Casey report and her recommendations. Consultations will then take place on how it will work. At least it is now being discussed, but making major changes to the country takes time. We always expect quick fixes to everything.

@AdamJSchwarz For goodness sake, his father died two weeks ago and he hasn't buried him yet. It's normal to feel tearful during grief. He isn't betraying pensioners. They will continue to receive generous rises with these changes. It's the youngsters that have been betrayed over many years!
