@AnandWrites yes, i completely agree that excessive wealth is bad for a healthy functioning liberal democracy; and wealth tax is one way to address that inequality in society. but this idea that we need to tax wealthy people in order to fund the commons is erroneous

@AnandWrites it's public funds that paid for all of the above. i.e. govt spending. not taxes. it's a very important distinction. strictly speaking a govt doesn't need taxes to fund spending. they are the monopoly issuer of currency. taxes have very important uses...
