BPCL continues to advance its commitment to accessible healthcare through Project Drishti, an initiative aimed at supporting over 17,000 cataract surgeries across 22 districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The project was formally launched in Bhopal on 28th May in the presence of Mr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Senior Joint Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Shirish Chandekar, CGM (HR), BPCL, Mr. Rohit Yadav, DGM (HR), BPCL, and Mr. R. N. Mohanty, CEO, Sightsavers India.

Implemented in collaboration with Sightsavers India and partner hospitals—Jeevan Jyoti Health Services (Jhabua), Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya (Vidisha), Choithram Netralaya (Chitrakoot), and Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya (Indore)—the initiative aims to restore vision, enhance quality of life, and improve access to eye care for underserved communities across the state.

BPCL Foundation is proud to support the Government of Haryana's TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan through the deployment of 150 TrueNat Molecular Diagnostic Quattro Machines across healthcare facilities in the state.

The initiative was inaugurated by Shri Nayab Singh Saini, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Haryana, in the presence of Smt. Arti Singh Rao, Hon'ble Health Minister of Haryana, at Panchkula.

Implemented under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), the project will strengthen early detection and rapid diagnosis of Tuberculosis across Haryana, helping improve access to quality healthcare, especially in rural and underserved regions.

In the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India, and Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State for Education and Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited partnered with Indian Institute of Technology Madras to establish the Centre for Next-Gen Technologies for Robotic Assisted Surgeries – YANTRAS at IIT Madras. The partnership was launched at the IIT Madras Technology Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam under the theme “From IITM. For Bharat. Building Together.”

Mr. Pushp Kumar Nayar, Executive Director (Corporate HR), represented BPCL at the event along with Mr. Sanjay Yadav, DGM (CSR), CO and Ms. Lalruatkimi, Assistant Executive (CSR), CO. Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, School Education & Literacy, and Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Higher Education, Ministry of Education, were also present on the occasion.

The initiative aims to advance indigenous innovation in robotic-assisted surgeries through cutting-edge research, training, startup incubation and global collaboration in medical technology. BPCL continues to advance its clean energy commitment with the signing of an MoU for a 1.7 MW grid-connected rooftop solar PV power generation system at Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust (SSST), Shirdi.

The MoU was signed by Ms. Bina Mansukh, CEO, BPCL Foundation and Shri Goraksha Gadilkar, CEO, Shree Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi, in the presence of Member of Parliament Shri Bhausaheb Wakchaure, Shri Bhimraj Darade, Deputy CEO, Shri Bhikan Dabhade, Executive Engineer, Shri Mangala Varade, Chief Accounts Officer, Shri Sandeepkumar Bhosale, Administrative Officer, and Shri Kishor Gawali, Deputy Executive Engineer, along with Shri Devendra Joshi, GM (Admin Services) with Additional Charge CSR, CO & CCO, BPCL Foundation.

With BPCL Foundation as the implementing agency and SSST, Shirdi as the executing agency, the project entails a total financial assistance of ₹4.45 crore (approx.) and will be completed over a period of 15 months. Once operational, the system is expected to generate significant clean energy, enabling substantial cost savings while reducing environmental impact.

Beyond operational efficiency, the initiative will support more than 10 lakh devotees who avail subsidized accommodation at SSST, Shirdi, reinforcing BPCL’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure, responsible energy use, and community-centric development.

As part of this initiative, the State Level Sub Junior Wrestling Competition was successfully organised on 12th & 13th April 2026 at Sagar, witnessing participation from 422 young wrestlers, including 157 female athletes, along with national and state-level referees.
Project Lakshya, a flagship CSR initiative of BPCL’s Bina Refinery, is focused on identifying and nurturing rural sporting talent through structured training in wrestling, chess, and athletics. With over 500 players enrolled, dedicated sports infrastructure in villages like Agasod and Dehri, and access to expert coaching, nutrition, and competitive exposure, the initiative is building a strong foundation for future champions.

Winners from the competition will go on to represent Madhya Pradesh at the national level, reinforcing the impact of sustained grassroots investment. The initiative was widely appreciated by dignitaries for creating meaningful opportunities and empowering young athletes from rural communities.
