🚨REPEATED PLEAS IGNORED — HOW LONG WILL COMMANDER PURNENDU TIWARY BE MADE TO SUFFER IN JAIL IN HIS SIXTH MONTH DUE TO MEA’S GRAVE ERROR AND CONTINUED INACTION?🚨
🙏🙏 An urgent and heartfelt appeal to the Hon’ble Prime Minister and Hon’ble External Affairs Minister — please bring Commander Purnendu Tiwary back home immediately, before it is too late. His 87-year-old mother is still waiting.
Commander Purnendu Tiwary: Left Behind, Wrongly Implicated, Still Imprisoned — A Grave Failure That Demands Immediate Intervention and Accountability
It is shocking and deeply distressing that while the Government of India acted decisively in the original Qatar case involving 8 Indian Navy veterans, only seven officers returned, and Commander Purnendu Tiwary was left behind in Doha.
When the seven officers returned to India on 12 February 2024, NO CASE existed against Commander Purnendu Tiwary.
If all were granted relief, then all should have returned.
Leaving one officer behind has never been convincingly explained.
The earlier justification of “paper formalities” has completely collapsed under the weight of time and subsequent events.
The “Separate Case” Narrative No Longer Holds
The explanation that Commander Purnendu Tiwary could not return because of a later separate case no longer withstands scrutiny.
In the financial case, a Qatari national, Commander Purnendu Tiwary, and CEO Khamis were sentenced. However, strikingly, Commander Purnendu Tiwary and CEO Khamis received the same six-year sentence, despite the company’s financial affairs being under the CEO’s control.
Thereafter, in what clearly appears to be an attempt to shift responsibility for alleged financial wrongdoing, CEO Khamis initiated another separate case against Commander Purnendu Tiwary.
That separate case has now completely collapsed:
✅ Qatar High Court acquitted Commander Purnendu Tiwary on 12 March 2026
✅ Since private parties could not carry the matter further to the Supreme Court / Court of Cassation, the matter was pursued through the Public Prosecution
✅ Even that challenge has now been dismissed by the Court of Cassation on 10 May 2026
✅ The acquittal is now final and unappealable
This speaks loudly and unmistakably:
Commander Purnendu Tiwary has been found innocent in the separate financial allegations used to target him.
This raises a grave and compelling question:
If the separate financial allegations against him have completely failed all the way up to the highest court, how can his continued incarceration in the earlier case still be justified?
The logical corollary is unavoidable:
Commander Purnendu Tiwary has been falsely implicated, and his continued incarceration now demands urgent intervention and immediate review.
🚨HUMANITARIAN CRISIS🚨
This is no longer merely a legal issue.
THIS IS A HUMANITARIAN CRISIS.
Commander Purnendu Tiwary:
- is 65 years old
- suffers from PTSD
- suffers from hypertension
- suffers from diabetes
- is facing severe physical and mental deterioration
His mental condition is now extremely fragile after prolonged incarceration, humiliation, uncertainty, deteriorating health, and separation from family.
Every passing day increases the danger to his life.
🚨A FAMILY IN AGONY🚨
For over two years, the family waited in silence, trusting repeated assurances that he would return.
That trust now stands shattered.
His 87-year-old mother continues to wait for her son.
For no fault of his own:
- he has suffered for nearly four years
- and has now been languishing in jail again for the last six months
The entire family has endured unbearable emotional, mental, and physical trauma.
🚨FINAL APPEAL🚨
Hon’ble Prime Minister Sir, Hon’ble External Affairs Minister Sir,
Commander Purnendu Tiwary is a decorated Indian naval officer.
He has suffered enough.
The highest court has now allowed his acquittal in the separate financial case to become final.
His health is deteriorating.
His family is in despair.
His elderly mother is waiting.
Sir, my brother Commander Purnendu Tiwary is now mentally extremely low and urgently needs to be taken out of jail and brought back to India at the earliest before it is too late.
PLEASE INTERVENE IMMEDIATELY. PLEASE BRING HIM HOME.
Thanks & Regards 🙏🙏

This is really frustrating, govt asking all companies to be compassionate & pay employees salaries on time in the current situation...on the other hand surprising MCD doctors are not paid for last 3 months , MCD should look into priority & address with sense of urgency.
North MCD doctors in distress due to non payment of their salaries for 3 months despite concerted efforts of our Hon'ble Mayor & Commissioner #who is responsible#what is our fault
