I've heard it said, "The creative adult is the child who has survived." Be child-like, not childish. And maybe, you'll be a better you. Some dream of knowing what they know while going back in time to be a kid with that knowledge. Bring the child within you forward.
It's easy to fall into the trap of negative self-talk and a pessimistic mindset. However, it's crucial to recognize that your Mindset Matters. Cultivating a positive mindset can make a big difference. Positive thinking is like washing your hands -- do so often.
The longest way round is the shortest way home - a saying that has many meanings. For me, it's a reminder to avoid shortcuts, but also to take the path fewer folks travel.
When someone seeks my advice or thoughts, I'll gladly give it. Unless they first give me their thought on the topic. Then I gladly hesitate, maybe tell them that's an interesting perspective. I don't want to engage in the argument I'm being invited to attend.

Grandma used to split her turkey in half and cook both halves. I thought she had a trick in cooking the turkey (faster?). When asked why: "That's how my grandmother did it, and that's how I've always done it." Ovens were a lot smaller then. One-half at a time.
The keyword in the phrase "old people" is "people," not "old." They are still people. These people have battled and still grapple with life. Here's something to think about: You are a "senior citizen" in training. "old people" are your mentors. How-to or How-not-to.
