@Davincij15 The thing is… it’s not going there. Bitcoin is Linux. It has reached its target audience. The network is not growing, transactions are down and let’s not even talk about price. It’s a niche thing, always has been… we just know for sure now.
@Myntad_com Bitcoin is Linux. It has fully reached its target audience and that’s it. The network is not growing. Transactions are going down and people are leaving in droves. It has reached its top… it will just hover around these prices going forward.
@BitQua Why is a new high guaranteed? Who is going to buy it going forward? What's to look forward to? ETFs? Done... Strategic Reserve? Delusional... Self Custody? Dead. Making money? Not anymore... at least not as much as other investments... So, what's the next catalyst? Seriously.
@benjamincowen And finally, if there's no money to be made in Bitcoin, 99.9% of people won't touch it. There's no point. You can use USDT to transfer money across borders without worrying about it loosing 50% of its value overnight. Also, governments are never going to give up monetary control.
@benjamincowen It never will earn durable mainstream trust. Crypto is Linux. It is an extremely niche thing. Just ask around... 99% of people don't really care about alternatives to monetary debasement. They care about money. And 99.9% definitely don't care about, nor want to, self custody.
@benjamincowen It is delusional to believe that self custody is ever going to become mainstream. People don't wanna carry that sort of responsibility. They want someone to blame if things go wrong. They want someone other than themselves to be held accountable when sh*t hits the fan.
@lieevertold Wait a second. The southern tip of South America is just as blue as the US and Canada (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay). Also, Mexico is part of North America. This guys is not being very precise with his wording.
@sunnydecree To be honest... self custody in my opinion was always the bottleneck that kept people away. If you could just use bitcoin as easily as apple pay, then people might actually be able to focus on the real power of it. It's scarcity. The fact that its value can't be inflated away.
@sunnydecree You just realized something crucial. Most people, and I mean +99% don't want to self custody their assets. They want someone else to be held accountable if things go wrong. They want someone to blame, someone they can call or demand answers from. That's human nature.
@sunnydecree Bitcoin's appeal was never the self custody aspect. Otherwise keeping fiat under your mattress would be just as safe. It was always the scarcity that made BTC priceless. The fact that you can verify instead of trusting. That's it. All the rest is just bonus.
