@Savsays We still have other tools available.
Station ICE in the hospitals. Your kid is a citizen, fine, but you still get arrested and sent home while your kid goes to an orphanage, unless you decide to take them home with you.
@Savsays Worst case scenario, there are still plenty of tools available to deter illegal immigration.
Like stationing ICE inside hospitals.
Ok you managed to pop your baby out inside US borders. You're still under arrest and getting deported and your baby goes directly to an orphanage.
@bbbolsa Anything they can do only works to the extent you want to be there.
The post is talking about conscription, but the video depicts volunteers.
If you refuse to do anything because you were conscripted against your will and don't support the war, the whole formula doesn't work.
@FMover27@Narte_punished Yeah I got a laugh out of people in that thread bragging about how tough drill instructors are and how they'll smoke badly behaved recruits.
Buddy, that only applies to volunteers who want to be there. All that shit doesn't apply to conscripts who don't support the war.
@Zickermackfsu@Narte_punished As the saying goes, the purpose of a thing is what it does, not what it claims to be for.
If a hammer claims to be used for drilling holes, what is it for? Does it actually drill holes? No? Then it isn't for drilling holes.
Same concept applies to boot camp.
@Zickermackfsu@Narte_punished -the military. Its a poorly designed tool that never really accomplished its stated purpose to begin with, which sticks around for the sake of tradition and because the military is largely isolated from pressure to adapt in response to failure.
@Zickermackfsu@Sinister_Sophia Speaking from experience.
No it doesn't form comradery. Everyone hates eachother and nobody trusts eachother.
No its not actually difficult. It sucks, but that's not the same thing as hard.
No they don't weed people out. Pretty much everyone gets through.
@FoxNews Barrett has been excellent on every decision she has made.
Committed to the principle that the judicial branch is not supposed to make law. She does not view herself as part of the legislative branch (unlike some judges...)
A model example of what all judges should be.
@imaginetoietmoi@Kulturlesite_ Because they aren't capable of mining it themselves yet. They will get there some day but for now they need foreign countries to come build and operate the mines.
@infantrydort -make a pedophile go do the work instead of a higher quality human being.
How many better men would be at home with families right now if we spend the entire GWOT making convicted pedos take a look at suspected IEDs?
@infantrydort -they pull their pedophiles and murderers and other scum of the earth out of prison and make them go be meatwaves.
We might not have a use for meatwave tactics, and a lot of jobs will probably still require high quality people. But we can find jobs with high levels of danger to-
@anvilpinyata Is she going to start voting rightwing?
All the epiphanies in the world don't mean anything if you don't learn any lessons from it and keep voting to make the problem worse.
@JPFar@EdwardKeithly23@TylerRatcliff17@NicoleTheCat4 I think we're all talking past one another. The people in the video were volunteers.
The people saying they would just refuse are obviously talking about conscription.
Yeah of course drill instructor stuff doesn't work on involuntary conscripts who don't support the war.
@PrimalNudist@TylerRatcliff17@NicoleTheCat4 The context is that these people are all volunteers.
Yeah of course drill instructor stuff doesn't work with conscripts who are there against their will because they don't support the war.
@TylerRatcliff17@NicoleTheCat4 Lol that only applies to volunteers.
How do you handle it if I just refuse to follow any directions because I didn't volunteer to be there and don't support the war?
I want to sabotage your organization by being a net drain on resources as punishment for conscripting me.
