@NoerholtDK@ClothesTesla@JMMZHerrera The video in the OP has the car making a sharp turn at parking lot speed immediately before zooming away. Same thing in that awful chinese video where the car went from park to zooming for a minute+ before killing two people
@NoerholtDK@ClothesTesla@JMMZHerrera Not only will it make the car zoom, it'll tell the system logging for forensics that the pedal is being held even if it isn't.
@NoerholtDK@ClothesTesla@JMMZHerrera We already have paper demonstrating a process by which the SUA can happen. Turning the wheel strongly at low speeds can lower 12v system voltage, if an automatic sensor calibration happens at that moment it'll start logging the pedal as full down.

@KansasCity@MayorLucasKC I want to help keep our city tidy but I can't help but fear the brevity of the pickup window and limited advertising of its being appointment only is going to result in a lot of dumping.
@KansasCity@MayorLucasKC Mayor Lucas, I only found out that this was appointment only today. I got all my treefall debris bundled with cords and put curbside last week, but I was never notified or informed that this was appointment only. I just called 311 just in case. Could we have an amnesty or repeat?
@Definit02209600 @parismarx Teslas' proprietary plug is deprecated and cars can't be sold with it outside the US already, in addition to it having lower max charge speeds. Accepting it as a standard here means we're locking in second best; It's really just protectionism against CN manufacturers.
@Definit02209600 @parismarx The most popular plug and the most likely best standard objectively is the GB/T standard, which allows for better and safer signaling, extremely high voltages and amperages, and nearly half of all fast charge capable cars already use it worldwide.
@twohlix @CJenkin4 @NotABigJerk@alexpotato Turns out what's convenient has been convenient since the incas and Aztecs first started chucking roasted peanuts into mortars 1000+ years ago!
@CJenkin4 @NotABigJerk@alexpotato Personally my favorite "authenticity is not authentic" bit is that if you want the most 'authentic' Mexican meal, you should smear peanut butter on a plain tortilla and eat it cold
@poppy_haze@NotABigJerk Until you realize the obsession with strict prescriptivism and violence delivered on anyone violating that prescriptivism means it's just fascism in a hat, talking about noodles instead of ethnicity
@carterforva Also, it was literally documented by propublica investigations. Midsized landlord collusion to raise prices and accept lower tenancy rates for higher total income is a documented fact.

@Holtmoney51 @nytopinion@petercoy What we really needed was for ten years ago the market to have pivoted to Volt style hybrids to ease an electrification transition. Everyone gets used to plugging in when they get home and gas range extenders so no one got range anxiety. Now it is ten years too late.
@nytopinion@petercoy Them being discontinued and everyone committing to awful oversized full EVs dependent on oversized charging infrastructure on our inadequate grid was a catastrophe. We needed smaller cars and more efficient short-range Volt style EVs that smoothly turn to gas for long trips.
@nytopinion@petercoy The best vehicle for the US market was the Chevy Volt and series style hybrids. Plug in and effectively a completely functional EV with a 50 mile range, and unlike conventional hybrids actually never turned on the gas engine until you needed it. 100% EV for most commutes.
