@hastes @lucynavt This isnt because of the horizontal progression though. It's because of the release cadence of endgame focused content. I love horizontal progression, I just want more raids, dungeons, etc. Horizontal progression is definitely a good thing.

TL;DR of the interview:
❌ No subscription / battle pass model - Colin Johanson called BP system a "subscription with extra rewards" that force you to keep playing
🗺️ Horizontal Progression - GW3 isn't a job simulator and they encourage you to play at your pace without racing for best gear
📜 Lore starts from around 48 BE (after Dhuum imprisonment)
⚔️ Action RPG combat from singleplayer and multiplayer games
🏃 Momentum based movement that blends with combat
💡GW3 is supposed to tackle modern MMO problems and overcome the stagnation of the genre

He also said that the following image is representation of their vision of combat designed for both controllers and keyboard/mouse (Ranger, Elementalist, Assasin confirmed???)

I'm both excited and skeptical of the future of guild wars. Supporting 3 games simultaneously seems risky. I guess blizzard technically does it across different versions of WoW, but they're much larger. I will try and put my trust in ANet to come through for us.
