My New Year’s resolution: follow in the footsteps of Franz Kafka and only read books that act as an “axe for the frozen sea within us.”
In other words, only read books that nourish the soul and nurture the interior life.

@JayneHarrison3 @becomingrenee Sounds about right. We need that autopilot mode, but how to discern when it doesn't fit? Sometimes we're capable and sometimes we are out of our known. I don't think I'd give my car mechanic my opinion!
@RamonaViviane @JayneHarrison3 @becomingrenee Yes, yes, but we don't recognize that's whats happening. Would we still do it if we did? I'd like to think not.
I am grateful to those who clean up our polluted environment, but for me, I am dedicating my efforts to clean up the toxic waste of fear, pride, rushing, competition, restlessness, etc. that has built up in myself that I may uncover the natural splendor that lies buried beneath
Interesting juxtaposition--reason and fear as braking forces. Here's another angle from J Jaye Gold's "Currency of Moments" addressing curiosity, fear, and reason. (click on image)
@AllisonBTimmins So true! I have had the good fortune of knowing author J Jaye Gold who has made a masterful study of reexamining what it means to uncover our naturalness. His curiosity, precision & wisdom are unparalleled. His new book "Currency of Moments" is a must read!
I got a fascinating email response from a well-known cognitive scientist as part of my job. "You will find me responding Tuesday and Friday before lunch. If you are curious about digital minimalism (and what this has to do with thinking): https://t.co/9y09LdHiIM "
Very difficult. But 1 of the best lessons I learned as a writer is to have balance. I spent years doing nothing but writing n waiting by my email for news of a sale. That’s not living. Have balance. Write stories. Enjoy the journey. Live a glorious life & write about it😊
