Our new paper demonstrating that caffeine increases both alcohol self-administration and motivation for alcohol is now in press! Fantastic work by a great group of @LycomingCollege students, including the amazing Gillian Barkell.

Congratulations to @LycomingCollege graduate and former Holstein Lab research assistant extraordinaire Ashmita Mukherjee on her grant from the Research Society on Alcoholism!
After the attack on the Capitol, @AP photographer Andrew Harnik snapped this photograph, of Rep. @AndyKimNJ , cleaning up after the rioters.
He was asked why he stayed behind to help others clean:
“When you see something you love that's broken, you want to fix it. “

@lizcroftonphd Liz - if you figure something out, please share! We did in class presentations (instead of a poster session) this fall, but the students definitely missed out on the feedback and the opportunity to show off the work they've done!
@lizcroftonphd Happens in rural towns, too. In little Williamsport PA, anywhere where street parking is tight, you’ll see chairs out reserving spots. Makes me laugh every time!
Based on our exhaustive research, scientists will be more successful by choosing mentors and/or mentees whose last name starts with 'B'. Wondering where I could submit this...
Second, I have had the blessing to work with some amazing female mentees at a variety of institutions. To suggest that my career as a mentor is negatively impacted by training female scientists is complete bulls***.
I have benefitted from both male and female mentors in my life. While all have been incredibly impactful on my career, none have taught me more or shaped my career more than these (and many other) amazing women @TamaraP23352535 and @BesheerLab. This paper is ridiculous.
