80-hour working week has ended. Even with two strike days next week, I'll still clock-up 40-50 hours. And I'm an experienced and efficient secondary school teacher. I love teaching, but the job needs to become more sustainable to remain attractive.

Meanwhile the combination of right wing bullshittery and BBC management cowardice and politicisation continues … BBC will not broadcast Attenborough episode over fear of rightwing backlash | BBC | The Guardian https://t.co/juUb3sRtz1
Labour: “The BBC’s cowardly decision to take Gary Lineker off air is an assault on free speech in the face of political pressure. Tory politicians lobbying to get people sacked for disagreeing with Government policies should be laughed at, not pandered to. BBC should rethink.”

Fund it and reduce workload rather than increasing pay, if pay packets are really the issue.
Just a reminder, the “record NHS funding” includes the billions spent on dodgy PPE, tests, and test and trace contracts…money the NHS never saw.
Genius really. Artificially inflate the NHS budget, take the money for your mates, and then use it as an excuse to let the NHS fail.
Last night, 292 Conservative MPs voted to allow sewage dumping by water companies in our rivers and coasts for at least 15 more years.
Can you spot your MP on the list?
Here's why more than 90% of @neunion teachers voted to strike, and why there are such desperate shortages of teachers in important subjects. At the end of the Labour government in 2008/9, teachers were paid 1.67 times the national average salary. Today they are paid 1.41 times...
