@NSNDP This story is scary, but the post shows how disconnected the NDP is to the real word. You bring in a 2% rent cap. What happens when inflation is 7%, power up 3%, property tax 5%? It means landlords reduce units & all rent shoots to the max! Do your homework & solve the root issue
@JustinTrudeau@hfxjrcc Time to put @MayorMitchellNS in charge of Nova Scotia. He seems to be the only leader on the South Shore walking people through this disaster. Where is the Premier? Where is everyone?! Thank you for your help. We need it down here just as much as Halifax does!
@OmarAlghabra A few issues. First, that just means costs still went up but slower. Second, the items that went down in price are not due to gov (cell, internet) Mortgages are still up 30% over last year, food is up 20%. Tens of thousands will default on mortgages soon. I wouldn’t be bragging!
@policenews I get it, it's not illegal and you can't charge him for being a degenerate arse but you cannot question that this symbol, above all really, is incredible hurtful to so many. There are simply things decent people don't do. This is one! Defending these actions is the other!
@NovaScotiaESM What an idiotic thing to say! You take women a step backwards when you make ridiculous statements like that. Please just stop talking. What he did was terrible and wrong but any notion that this is a male only thing just means your ignorance is showing!
@Suzanne_Rent FYI, the mayor has since posted with additional information (since you didn't bother contacting the other) and there are so many red flags you didn't bother to question it's terrible. You are essentially supporting this organization who withheld information for personal gain.
@fsawns@HfxExaminer @Suzanne_Rent If you can’t pay your taxes then you can’t fund a massive development! Why is the province no longer funding you? Why do you have no program income? Some of us in the community has a lot of questions. An audit would help. Something is very very wrong here! @NS_DCS @OAG_NS
@milneice There is so much more to this that isn’t being reported. This organization need a full accounting and people need to ask questions. Red flags all around with that “charity”.
As we celebrate the beginning of #BlackHistoryMonth, let’s listen to the stories that Black communities have to tell. Let’s continue to celebrate their contributions to our country. And let’s keep building a future where everyone can succeed and thrive. https://t.co/1lvjlH00tE
@Suzanne_Rent This is pretty poor reporting. Did you even contact the town? Did you contact anyone who has worked with Art? Nope! You didn’t ask a single question or you would know there is so much more to this. Why haven’t they paid taxes? Where did provincial money go? Do your research!
@HfxExaminer @Suzanne_Rent There are so many things not stated in the piece I cannot believe it got published. Did you do any due diligence? Not wondering why they have no money to pay taxes yet think they will build a $12 million housing project? Not asking how they have a $100,00 surplus yet “no money”?
@threeputtim @irvingoil@TownBridgewater @MayorMitchellNS Curious as to why the town is partially to blame? It’s clearly an Irving product that someone threw away. Also, the Irving on north street isn’t in Bridgewater, it’s in MODL.
@scotiabot@CBCNS You just keep lying. His comment was made in early December when there were very few hospitalizations but you keep stalking and lying. Speaks to your character.
@wileville @CBCNS Maybe don’t take it out of context. He said that and clearly stated “nobody got hurt”. Pretty sure human life is more important money
@globalhalifax A fair contract is important & Acadia needs to ensure that. The union however needs to take ownership of striking WEEKS before mediation ever took place! Students never needed to go through this & now you're in binding arbitration anyway! What a waste of time & unnecessary stress
@InvertGenes @AcadiaU I will apologize that I misread your posted letter & thought it was the student union that took a side. I will own that mistake. My position has been that the strike was avoidable and the union went on strike weeks before mediation which was unnecessary and that fact is correct!
@InvertGenes @CommonSenseNS @AcadiaU You've entirely missed my point but that's okay. Arbitration isn't idea for faculty or the university but it's important for students and again, should never have resulted in this action and BOTH SIDES are to blame.
@InvertGenes @CommonSenseNS @AcadiaU Union backed themselves into now having to take a deal through arbitration. Had they not gone on strike before the prov mediator came, they would have been in a stronger position. That's on them (speaking from experience). They orchestrated their bad position at student's expense
@InvertGenes @CommonSenseNS @AcadiaU I find it hard to believe that you (Matt) have also spoken to students. I have two grandkids at Acadia, they & all their classmates were against this strike. To David's point, working through mediation was an option but they went on strike WEEKS before that! 1/2
