there is always a silver lining, and it’s all about perspective. let’s enjoy this opportunity to slow down and be in the present. thanks for sharing this with me @TimThompson79
It's the #AusAirForce 99th birthday today! Only one year to go until we reach the tonne! It's been a tough start to the year but I'm incredibly proud of the way our people have supported the community. Stay tuned for the lead up celebrations for our centenary in 2021!
If anyone thinks “ oh it’s just a bad flu. It won’t kill me even if I do get it”, watch this and see how quickly it spreads and what it means if we collectively swamp our health services
Echo Squadron Weekend 2020. Approx. 24 hours before the 1.5m social distancing rule was announced! Pictured is the flags and sandcastle building competitions. Also, some great burrito mince @esthersuh_ ! The ‘Echo feeling’ is being successfully passed onto the next gen. of eagles
An interesting read. I especially enjoyed LTCOL Robin Smith’s piece. Some great tips from honest experience... had to get my notebook out 📝 Sparked thought about the difference in definition of ‘mission command’ at home vs on operations due to risk/agility boundaries.
BONUS CONTENT | We hope you were inspired by #10in10, but we thought we could draw a little more from the contributors.
Often espoused, rarely executed to its fullest our interviewees give their take on 'mission command'

Our newest #ESQNEAGLES were officially inducted into the Squadron in the first OC hour for the year. To mark this milestone, our 2/3 Years presented each Year One trainee with an E SQN T-shirt and water bottle. We returned to ADFA, as the E SQN family for 2020.
Today’s CDF parade saw the Corps of Midshipmen and Officer Cadets welcome the 2020 Year One cohort into #ADFA along with the first fly past by a RAAF F-35 of an ADFA parade (sound in!)
80 female TOs got out of bed early this morning to join their ‘sisters in arms’ in a killer AMRAP workout to kick off hump day the right way. Extremely pumped for the year ahead as Vice Pres of this incredible VECC.
Just emerged from days of hell on sth coast, cannot believe attacks on ABC, It is the ONLY reliable source of info, everyone is tuned in, its real time broadcasting is saving lives, property and helping us understand our situation re fire threats, roads, petrol, food etc
@Mick_Cook@aljawick I ref articles full of foul language, insults and fake news. Criticism that is not constructive. Holding elected PM to account is inarguably important however, I find that encouraging such immense disrespect in these times to be a tragedy of the Australian spirit.
Proud of the ADF, Firies, volunteers and politicians working around the clock, doing their best in this extremely testing natural disaster. In a time where we need to unite with grit, mateship and gratitude, I’m seeing far too much rage and blame typing. 😕https://t.co/wglM2qVJXF
@Mick_Cook@aljawick Great point! Its likely that there are mistruths on either side however, my concern is with those who are not open-minded and are being influenced by extremely negative articles that read like satire - keyboard warriors full of hate who drown out those deserving to be heard.
#Mallacoota evacuees are now onboard HMAS Choules. It has been a big day for all involved.
I am so proud of how #YourADF, emergency services, and the community have worked together to safely see this initial operation through. Thank you.
This isn't over, but we stand together.
4 years after my 12-month Rotary Youth exchange to Switzerland, I am BACK!! So surreal to be at ‘home’ on the other side of the world. Extremely grateful to my host family for welcoming me back into their home! Will be a spectacular Christmas in the Alps!
My time as SSM of Echo Squadron @ComdtADFA has come to an end. To have the opportunity to mentor the next gen of leaders has been an honour. Congratulations to Echo on being awarded Champion Squadron . I look forward to working with these new leaders in the future.
