Oh, the saga of @qatarairways continues—because why stop at one disaster when you can string us along for a full-blown farce? On Friday, they graced us with the divine command to haul ourselves to Damascus airport by 6 AM Saturday for a supposed 10 AM flight. Brilliant, right? Except at 8 AM, they summoned us to the gate like obedient sheep, only to—surprise!—not take off at 10 AM. Instead, they held us hostage until 2:30 PM, because nothing screams “world-class airline” like turning passengers into captives in a twisted game of “guess when we’ll fly.” And get this: the Qatar Airways staff knew there are no restaurants, cafes, or even a measly water fountain at that gate in Damascus airport—yet they marooned us there anyway, like we’re auditioning for a survival show.
Here’s the kicker: the Syrian airport staff and security—yes, those folks with their “little experience” and their “little airport”—somehow outshone the so-called “internationally trained” Qatar Airways employees. With fewer resources and zero pretension, they managed to show more competence than the glossy, overpaid crew of this airline. Who needs fancy training when basic human decency gets the job done? Meanwhile, some passengers were on their third cancellation since Wednesday—marooned by Qatar Airways’ brilliance—and a few were running out of cash, because apparently, we’re all supposed to pack a fortune to survive their endless incompetence.
Then, at Hamad airport, the circus rolled on. An employee swooped in, dangling a hotel outside the airport like it’s some grand prize. As if I’d trust these clowns to shuttle me anywhere after this nightmare! I demanded a lounge or hotel inside the airport—y’know, basic decency—and what did they do? They kidnapped my passport and boarding pass for a full hour! Oh, and they swapped my seat without so much as a whisper, tossing me some garbled nonsense in broken English I couldn’t even decipher. Were they offering me a sandwich or an apology? Who knows—their staff sure didn’t.
They clutched my passport like it was their precious heirloom, hesitating to hand it back until I raised my voice—because apparently, you need to scream to remind them it’s mine. Bad service? This isn’t just bad; it’s a masterclass in incompetence. @qatarairways, professionalism isn’t slapping your logo on a shiny airport and calling it a day—it’s about not treating passengers like pawns in your chaotic little empire. Never again. Enjoy your money; you’ve lost my trust.
Mr. #Ahmed _AlSharaa and his interim government in #Syria are steadily marching towards crafting a historic failure, committing a series of catastrophic mistakes that highlight mismanagement and a complete lack of any genuine political vision:
1.Questionable Appointments: In a blatant disregard for standards of integrity and competence, Al-Sharaa appointed individuals with criminal backgrounds and corruption allegations, such as the Minister of Justice and figures like Ms. Aisha Al-Dibs, to senior positions.
2.Military and Organizational Failure: The administration has completely failed to establish a comprehensive national army that represents all segments of Syrian society and unifies the disparate armed factions. Even worse, they marginalized defected officers from the Assad regime—who possess real military expertise—and instead appointed individuals with no academic military background, reducing the military institution to an improvised and unprofessional project.
3.Monopolizing Power and Excluding Others: Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) insists on excluding any political partnerships or genuine national dialogue. There have been no calls for launching an inclusive political process or serious steps toward forming a transitional government. The indicators strongly suggest that this goal is unlikely to materialize by the end of February.
4.Fatal Political Missteps: In their quest for international recognition, HTS committed a series of amateurish mistakes that reveal a profound ignorance of the fundamentals of politics and diplomacy.
It is evident that Mr. Ahmed Al-Sharaa is opening the door wide for himself to accumulate mistake after mistake, as if his sole purpose is to prove his incompetence and erode any trust in his leadership. The path he is currently taking promises nothing but further collapse and disappointment for the Syrian people!
