In the Pi Launchpad model, projects issue tokens as tools to acquire users for their applications and integrate those tokens directly into product functionality, such as access, payments, rewards, and governance.
Instead of being taken by the issuing project, the proceeds of Pi from their token launch go to a liquidity pool with the ecosystem token, which bootstraps a healthy liquidity foundation from the start.
For the SLICE test launch on Testnet, this results in a liquidity pool containing SLICE and Test-Pi. In addition to matching individual buyers and sellers through a traditional decentralized order book on the Pi DEX, the pool uses an automated market maker algorithm to calculate swaps based on the amounts of both assets it currently holds.

SAD NEWS: Last night, bandits stormed Bungudu town in Bungudu LGA of Zamfara State in what appears to have been a targeted operation, abducting the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Nura Umar Abdullahi.
The attackers also took the Chairman's wife and children but later released them. According to his wife, the bandits told them they had only come for the Chairman.
Two other residents were also abducted:
• Halliru Ahmad Soja, a staff member of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau.
• Hussaini "Naira," a local POS operator and recharge card vendor.
The attack claimed the lives of four members of the Chairman's security team:
• Inspector Basiru Lawal
• Constable Hamza Muhammad
• Nura (ADC vigilante)
• Ibrahim Baare (vigilante)
The Chairman's elder brother, Alhaji Bello Umar Abdullahi (ST), a former Treasury Officer with the Zamfara State Ministry of Finance, was also injured during the attack.
Perhaps most alarming is that the bandits operated in Bungudu for more than two hours before leaving. Bungudu is a major town on the Gusau–Sokoto highway, just a short drive from the Zamfara State capital, Gusau.
How can gunmen spend over two hours carrying out a targeted attack in such a strategic town, kill security personnel, abduct a serving Local Government Chairman and leave without being intercepted?
