We encourage you to take some time to learn more about First Nations, Inuit, and Métis, upon whose lands we live, work, and play with gratitude. We are all treaty people.
MAS recognizes the roles of museums in perpetuating colonial practices in Canada, both directly and indirectly, through collection and display practices, policy, and harmful rhetoric.
We commit to explore our roles in nurturing meaningful relationships and building understanding. We dedicate our efforts to working together in a spirit of collaboration and reconciliation.
This is a time for all Canadians, Indigenous, non-Indigenous, settlers, and newcomers, to reflect upon and learn the history, sacrifices, cultures, contributions, and strength of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people.
MAS is dedicated to providing a safer space for everyone. Museums should be safe spaces for everyone to engage in learning about our past, present, and future.
Please read our Safer Space Guidelines here: https://t.co/JCe2SqhliF 2/2
June is Pride Month, a celebration of the history, resilience, and achievements of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. This month, we honour the vibrant history of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, acknowledging its role in guiding us towards a more inclusive future.1/2
