Saturday night two students at the Texas A&M homecoming were shot and 12 others were injured. Sunday at a vigil, for the students who died, a gunman opened fire, thankfully no one was hurt or died. We said #NeverAgain and it happened again in 24 hours-twice.

In Texas last night, four people were shot, and the shooter killed himself. In New Orleans tonight, three people were killed and seven injured by bullets. These are not homes, spaces, streets where we can live. We won't be safe in this country until we have stopped gun violence.

The Maryland shooting occurred over ten minutes in a newsroom. Five people were killed and a few more were injured. SASS stands in solidarity with the survivors, and will continue pushing for reasonable gun legislation to stop tragedies like this one from occurring again.

SASS just sent out a very important email: a survey to determine which candidates in the Iowa general election support gun safety. We’ll grade candidates based on their answers. Who ever said grades don’t matter?
