1.27 crore bedsheets, towels, blankets, pillows, and pillow covers were stolen from Indian Railways' AC coaches in just 4 years.

These are AC coaches, generally used by passengers who can afford higher fares and, in many cases, come from financially well-off backgrounds.

This is not just about theft. It reflects a mindset. Public property is treated as if it belongs to no one, even though the cost is ultimately borne by the nation and its taxpayers.

And yes, among those passengers, there will also be people who spend all day abusing India and saying that India can never become a developed country.

Perhaps we should first look in the mirror. Nations don't become world-class only because of better govts or better infrastructure. They also become better when their citizens respect public property, follow basic civic values, and take responsibility for their own actions.

The actual procurement calculation is straightforward:

The MRP is ₹23.11, the discount is 60.50%, and the base price, excluding GST, is ₹8.69.

This is broadly comparable to procurement rates in other states too.

So the figures of ₹2.50 and ₹15 were completely imaginary.

Despite this, Health Secretary Rupesh Thakur recommended that an FIR be registered on the basis of an unsigned and unnamed complaint

He had to know that those figures were baseless, yet he still recommended an FIR that was used as a toolkit against Rekha Gupta’s Delhi govt.

This was not an error or a mistake. It was a targeted attack on the credibility of the Delhi govt.
