Today, Shri Vidya Sagar Mishra, IPS, demits office after a career marked by quiet distinction and exemplary service to the force and the public.

I had the privilege of serving alongside him first in Pratapgarh and later in Rampur and Moradabad.

In those years, I saw in him the rare combination of professional competence and deep human qualities that one seldom encounters.

As a police officer, he was firm yet fair, decisive yet thoughtful, and always guided by a strong sense of duty and justice.

As a human being, he was even finer — humble, dignified, and possessed of an innate grace that left a lasting impression on all who worked with him.

In my years of service, I have met many officers of ability. Few, however, have matched the integrity, balance, and quiet strength that Vidya Sagar ji consistently displayed.

He remains, for me, among the finest persons I have ever known.

As he steps into a new chapter of life, I wish him good health, lasting peace, and the quiet contentment that comes from a life of honest service.

May the years ahead be as fulfilling as the ones he devoted to the uniform.
