Saturdays in the Fall

#1 College Football fan. How about them Dawgs. I just want to become a huge account and get paid to watch College Football, is that too much to ask

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

With gambling and sports books taking up so much space in the sport, I have decided to make this a place to talk about the sport without all of that. Please give a follow if that’s something you’ve been looking for

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@lennylee41 @TheYNation_ If it didn’t detract from the regular season sure, I just don’t believe the damage it will do to the sport is worth giving teams a very small chance. I think it gives them less a chance. TCU would not have made it to the title if they had to go through multiple playoff games

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@lennylee41 @TheYNation_ Parity is boring, it means Purdue upsetting Ohio st in one of the biggest moments in program history isn’t chaotic, it’s normal because everyone is close with each other. No one would purposely design a sport like how cfb is, but there is no sport even close to as special as CFB

[Graham Coffey @GrahamCoffeyDC]

A fan led group called Stop24 has launched a website citing academic papers, tv ratings and more to lobby against expansion of the CFP field

It asks to “Keep Saturdays consequential” and shows that 30 of 40 teams ranked 17-24 from 2021-2025 had 3 losses

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@lennylee41 @TheYNation_ Any argument comparing to other sports is instantly cut off, I don’t want college to be like any other sport, full stop. But also, no other sport is set up where the best teams can beat the lower teams by 30 with their backups

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@headyearner @JMUSportsNews And I don’t think Oregon is good enough to be in the playoffs. You seem to think I only hate g6 in. I don’t want any teams in if they aren’t good, that’s my whole point for not wanting an expanded playoff

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@headyearner @JMUSportsNews That also has nothing to do with nothing. Indiana lost one year, and people talked smack, what your supposed to do, then Indiana went and proved everyone wrong the next year

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@headyearner @JMUSportsNews Bama should not have been in the play off, I agree

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@headyearner @JMUSportsNews You’re arguing my point for me. There aren’t enough teams to actually be competetive in the p4. If my argument is, “g6 isn’t good enough and gets beat by backups” your argument that, “p4 teams do that too” it’s showing how big the talent gap is between the top and bottom teams.

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

I feel like I’m going crazy. There is absolutely nothing about a 24 team playoff that is worth even the tiniest of detriment to the regular season. You want a bunch of 8-4 teams playing each other, watch bowl games those are fun.

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@lennylee41 @TheYNation_ Why should we diminish and change the regular season, for what? We aren’t limiting anything. If there is only a handful of teams capable of winning every year why do we need to expand to pretend there are more?

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@lennylee41 @TheYNation_ I could not care less about march madness. This is about college football. No one watches the regular season for cbb, the regular season should be the most important thing for college football.

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@AuburnBlazer If you really think you’ll be happier with you participation trophy, good luck hope you get it

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@BudElliott3 Would a 24 kill all of the bowls, I know it’d kill the big ones left, but that makes me sad, one of my favorite times of the year is bowl season

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@JaxStateLoaded Kinda. Teams like Purdue used to be able to pride themselves on derailing and destroying big schools entire seasons, that’s what makes it so cool and memorable. Now if that happened people would’ve forgotten about it in 2-3 years

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@TBM_JY I don’t want to seem like a g6 hater cus I’m not, I’m a big Boise and Wyoming fan. But that doesn’t mean I don’t know that there are simply levels to the sport

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@TBM_JY Hey that’s a D1 team you’re trashing. I think they need a bid for the 36 team playoffs in 2045

[Saturdays in the Fall @SaturdaysBall]

@AuburnBlazer So some other school will mow over the g6. Even if you flipped it and gave all the sec money to the sunbelt, great cool. Put the sunbelt teams in. But it isn’t rational to think that teams that can’t compete against back ups contend
