🔴|This recording is not a leak. It is a confession, played back by Malaysia’s own Anti-Corruption Commission. It captures the moment a sitting prime minister asks a crown prince to help him fabricate evidence for a multibillion-dollar money laundering operation.

The deal was simple. Najib Razak needed a fake loan agreement. Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ) was the man who could sign it.

💥 The Fabrication: A Loan That Never Existed

In a July 2016 call, Najib urged MBZ to arrange a sham loan agreement to disguise money that had been stolen from 1MDB. The money had flowed to his stepson, Riza Aziz, through the production company Red Granite the firm behind The Wolf of Wall Street. The US Department of Justice had just moved to seize assets, and Najib was desperate.

His pitch to the crown prince was explicit. He wanted the agreement to show the money was “a legitimate financing package, it’s not money laundering” . He asked MBZ to help him “fake evidence” to protect his stepson, telling the prince: “I don’t want him to be a victim”.

MBZ did not refuse. The recording captures the crown prince agreeing to the arrangement, with Najib pressing him to intervene urgently.

🎯 The Commission’s Verdict: “Criminal Conspiracy”

Latheefa Koya, the head of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), did not mince words. She said the nine recordings covering January to July 2016 revealed a “clear cover-up and criminal conspiracy” by Najib to “stifle investigations, fabricate false evidence and obstruct justice” in the 1MDB scandal.

She confirmed the recordings were forensically authenticated before being released.

📜 The Silence of the Palace

The UAE government’s communication office did not respond to requests for comment when the recordings were published.

A crown prince who participated in a plot to fabricate evidence for a money laundering scandal is not a partner for “anti-corruption” efforts. He is the other half of the crime.

The same man whose image is sold to the world as a modernizing reformer, a partner for Western finance and security, was caught on tape agreeing to help a compromised prime minister forge documents to obstruct the US Department of Justice. The “moderate” face of the UAE is a mask worn over a ledger of criminal conspiracy.
