@AdventofMelech That was a marketing strategy I suggested they might use before it came out. There's been evidence of studios doing this in the past, particularly for movies that were important to the studios' future.

@opinionsnigga @TheCurlyRay I looked up the original document on the government website when it was available and saw it for myself, but even if you ignore that, they did report that the $225M number was after tax breaks and other incentives, which is not how they normally reveal production budgets.

@opinionsnigga @TheCurlyRay The budget they reported to the government was $370M, and when the $225M budget came out, they stated that it was after various tax breaks and incentives. Hence, the MoS comparison. After tax breaks and incentives, it made back most of its full budget before release.

@TheCurlyRay Having said that, this is the first movie I ever heard of using this adjusted, post tax breaks/etc. budget. If Man of Steel did that, it would have been considered profitable by the end of its opening weekend.

@TheCurlyRay I don't know if one's more credible than the other, but the one that says they broke even is using the adjusted budget, which is over $100M less than the full budget, so the discrepancy makes sense. Both estimates make sense given certain information.

No one would expect you to find a cheap garbage shot in RM, and no one would argue that JL doesn't look like cheap garbage.

@thejoelancaster @AdventofMelech Yes, it's weird that they gave Joss that ridiculous bonus budget only for the visuals to decrease in quality, but look at those figures again. It wasn't Justice League being mentioned, it was Rebel Moon. Good luck finding a 'cheap garbage' frame within those six hours.

@CismeriaL @GailSimone Shasu (Bloodaxes) and Sharaan are longtime allies, but as far as we know, the Bloodaxes did not go to Sharaan until after Toa, and they were on Toa about a year before Noble arrived on Veldt. Sometime during that year is when they made it to Sharaan.

We're loving @GailSimone 's Nemesis! Can you help us settle a debate? Ana is looking for the Bloodaxes on Sharaan. This seems to imply that the Bloodaxes or clues are on Sharaan, but they haven't gone to Sharaan yet in the timeline. Was this a mistake?
