Former porn stars are opening up about what they say happened behind the scenes of the industry.

Lana Rhoades said that when she was one of the biggest performers in the industry, everyone wanted to make money off her, pushing her toward increasingly extreme situations.

“Some of my experiences are really humiliating for me, and I wish that they never happened.”

She described being pressured into extreme sexual acts, including what is commonly referred to as a “golden shower.”

Riley Reid says the consequences followed her outside of work:

“A lot of times when people ask me if they should do porn, I tell them no.”

She says it made dating, family life and intimacy harder, while also leaving her worried about how her future children might be treated.

Mia Khalifa described another consequence:

“It brings me deep shame. It makes me feel like I lost all right to my privacy.”

Then there are stories involving addiction, suicidal thoughts and serious health consequences.

Brittni De La Mora said she was making significant money while battling cocaine and heroin addiction and severe suicidal thoughts.

Randy Spears said pornography changed the way he viewed women, making him see them even more as sexual objects.

But the comments pushed back hard.

Some mocked the stories, comparing it to putting your hand in a fire and then blaming the fire for burning you.

Others argued that these testimonies reveal something much darker about an industry that can exploit people who are already vulnerable.
