They believed in the American dream, worked for it, and had it.

West has completely blocked any legal migration despite its role in several crises in Asia+Dubai doesn't pretend to be a free open-to-all country like the West.

@oldbooksguy I often wonder if Elon Musk is playing Henry Rearden and Satoshi as John Galt from Atlas Shrugged.

Besides, Ayn Rand's resentment of mediocrity is so deep & passionate, it makes you want to excel or perish. A life-changing author for me.

They could migrate to more friendly cities that promise not just money but also a future, say Singapore/Malaysia, which brings us to the point that Dubai is not a great city.

20 years of their adult lives spent like zombies. Their children don’t remember their faces and they have no place to call home.

Tech dev always had competition. But with AI, the progress made by a few with it will be unmatched.

Imagine 1000x Nuclear Weapon+1000x IQ as your ally & no competition. You'll be king. AI won't take over, it has no purpose without humans.

They don't see their family for 3-5 years at least. And most don't come back once they leave unless they're trapped in some debt.
