>Priest is attacked and stabbed by random guy
>Celebrates Mass next week still healing from his injuries
>Preaches forgiveness
This is what true Christianity looks like.
Father Adrian Mantykiewicz, who was injured in a stabbing attack at a Polish monastery that killed another priest, celebrated Mass two days later with his head and hand bandaged. In his homily, he said he forgives the attacker and urged people to pray for him, especially for the grace of conversion.
@rageofjosue "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld. - John 20:23
"Confess your sins to one another"- James 5:16.
Saint Marina of Omura was a Japanese laywoman and member of the Dominican Third Order who sheltered Christians during persecution. Martyred by slow fire in 1634, she remained devout until death. Canonized in 1987, she is honored for her unwavering faith and bravery. 🕊️
There is a lot about Fulton Sheen that people don’t know, especially his life after his show ended…
A Cardinal undermined him during & after the show. This went on for almost 28 years
He got him removed from major charity roles in the Church that he’d held for years at this point.
He was also removed from his diocese in NY & moved to a much smaller & rural one in Rochester.
All the while he never slandered him, & took his reassignments graciously after ascending to the heights of culture & the church.
Later in his autobiography he said that he initially resisted even minor trials and mortifications, but as the Lord laid heavier crosses on his back he changed.
This is what makes a Saint
I was a Protestant for at least five years. I regularly attended service on Sundays, listened to people online, and attended paid and unpaid events. I have no plans of going back.
I am in OCIA now, and God willing I will be received into the Catholic Church at Easter.
I volunteer as a catechist at my parish and every time I teach there are at least a few new catechumens. The class is getting too big for our meeting room to accommodate.
Similar stories all over the country. America is becoming Catholic.
