@ryanplantz @Moody_Bible True, but D.L. Moody started a school to train men and women for ministry. People in the academy know how to lead a school far better than pastors do. It is a different line of work. Moody's goal shouldn't be ministry, but training people for ministry.

BREAKING NEWS: @Moody_Bible has announced their new president this morning in chapel: Mark Jobe, founder and lead pastor of New Life Community Church. Very disappointed. Moody had a chance to do something great and pick an academic to lead the school. What is their agenda?

Last spring, we received news that the faculty, or at least the Bible and Theology faculty @Moody_Bible demanded an academic to be their new president. It's disheartening to see that Moody's admin doesn't care enough about their faculty to listen to them. #savemoody

First off, we've been in contact with a few administrative staff at Moody and they've informed us that @Moody_Bible's presidential search has been narrowed down to 2-3 candidates and the board will be voting on the next president in October.

Oh, we forgot. @MoodyPublishers is releasing a book this spring about the doctrinal statement of @Moody_Bible. Each chapter of the book will be written by a faculty member. Their aim is to clarify what they believe as an institute. #revivemoody

Secondly, we'd like to report that the faculty that were layed off last year were offered adjunct positions. @Moody_Bible has retained H.E. Singley III, Desiree Hassler, Betty-Ann Lynerd, Elizabeth Naegele, Un-Young Whang, Kirk Baker, and Bryan Litfin. #revivemoody

In the past, we have added fuel to the blazing fire by tweeting about Moody in a negative light. We're happy to announce that we have some positive news to share with you all about Moody.

@MacKayRadio What kind of "gospel" are you talking about? We use the word "liberal" because we know the staff at Moody who are liberal. They want nothing more than the current social justice narrative, which includes white guilt. The gospel we believe in does much more than social justice.

According to existing faculty members, Moody's layoffs were not for financial reasons, but rather socio-political. Over the past few years, most of Moody's latest hires institutionally have been politically liberal. Why do you think Moody removed their most conservative faculty?

One of the things we've heard this past summer is that @Moody_Bible's Communications department is looking to hire four new, full-time faculty members. If this is true, is Moody really in a financial mess, or were their layoffs for a different reason?

In regards to an earlier tweet we made about Rachel (Monfette) Puente's chapel duties, we were told by students that there is a new faculty committee that now oversees @Moody_Bible's chapel. We were delighted to hear this news when it was told to us.

.@Moody_Bible has announced that Trustee @JerryBJenkins is stepping off the board as his term expires, ending a 45-year association with MBI. Though I called for his resignation, I wish Jerry well and want to recognize his sacrifice of time and money for the institute.

@drewrobertsmith Yes, you're right. Hated is a strong term, but that's exactly how our sources at Moody phrased it, and we've been told that he's the reason why the faculty layoffs hit bible, theology, and music the most. We also heard that he wanted to start nursing and engineering degrees too.

@drewrobertsmith The why behind the talks about a curriculum change is due to identity politics. The admin is still fueled by the narrative of Venugopal, & he hated the notion of a bible school, since our conservative roots are rooted in evangelicalism, which was championed by white, male leaders

@drewrobertsmith No, because church needs those students too. The curriculum, as it stands now, is great. However, we've lost half of our bible and theology department faculty, so who's going to teach all of those students the core bible/theology courses, let alone electives?
