This struggle continues today and ICT stands hand-in-hand with Chinese, Uyghur, Hong Kong, and all activists calling for Beijing to stop their systematic repression and respect human rights.

The Assuring the Future of Tibet Act marks a milestone in US support for the CTA. Thanks to the dedication of #Tibet advocates like @RepMcGovern and @RepMcCaul, the voice of the Tibetan people will be heard. #savetibet
Thanks to my friend Richard Gere, who’s championing my bill that would elevate the Central Tibetan Administration & give them the power to negotiate with China.
The Tibetan people have the right to choose who governs them. It’s time we exercise our power to uphold that right.
Alongside platforming the Tibetan arts and cultural cornerstones, the Days of Compassion at @MovingImageNYC opened up the arts and crafts to the NYC community! Participants had the opportunity to make their own prayer flags and hang them in the Kaufman Courtyard!

Learn the real facts about this day in Tibetan history. On May 23, 1951, the government of Tibet was forced under the threat of CCP violence to sign the “17- Point Agreement.”
The “agreement” compelled #Tibet to “co-exist” with the CCP, who then flaunted the document as a legitimate claim to the Tibetan plateau. #savetibet #humanrights #religiousfreedom
The human rights of the Tibetan people are being eroded by the CCP. Thank you @RepRoKhanna for your time and for using your voice to raise the Tibetan issue.
Had a great discussion with @SaveTibetOrg and Richard Gere on human rights in Tibet. We can’t stand by as Beijing erases Tibetan culture and rewrites history. President Trump needs to raise these abuses with Xi Jinping and secure guarantees of Tibet’s autonomy.
The International Campaign for Tibet offers our deepest condolences to the family of Congressman Barney Frank who passed away on May 19. Congressman Frank was a steadfast supporter of the Tibetan people while representing the Boston area for 32 years in the U.S. House of Representatives.
His historic contribution was the introduction of a provision in the Immigration Act of 1990 that provided 1,000 U.S. immigrant visas for Tibetan refugees in the Indian subcontinent. Today, the Tibetan American community has developed because of that legislation; it is making its mark in American society, contributing to its development and championing the rights of Tibetans in Tibet.
The global Tibet movement is eternally grateful for Congressman Frank's compassionate leadership. Congressman Frank is survived by his husband Jim Ready, sisters Doris Breay and Ann Lewis and brother David Frank.
Last month we were honored to host a screening of Ella Manzheeva’s ‘Geshe Wangyal: With Blessing of the Three Jewels,’ in our DC office. The screening was followed by a discussion with Telo Rinpoche, Tenzin Namgyal Tethong, and Joel McCleary.
A big thank you to those who joined, and keep an eye out for our upcoming events! #savetibet
