if you’ve read my content, you know that i talk about aesthetic convergence a lot which i find truly fascinating. cuz wherever you go now you’ll notice tons of ppl look exactly the same (esp in dense places).

the reason is pretty simple… you see the old world had local weirdness because taste formation had friction. you had to find the record store, the zine, the older cousin, the weird bar, the badly lit bookstore, or the regional scene. style was embedded in place & transmission was lossy. lossy transmission creates mutation. mutation creates subculture.

the feed destroys that by making everything instantly accessible, comparable, rankable, & purchasable. by anyone. memeticism + algorithms are like steroids for human desire..

so now the moment some aesthetic emerges, it gets: seen → copied → named → packaged → linked → sold → exhausted.

that cycle used to take years. now it takes days. sometimes hours. that’s why every subculture now feels stillborn. it gets merchandised before it gets a mythology. this has so many other downstream effects on almost the entire human desire set, like wanting only certain aesthetics of ppl (& now you see why dude looksmaxxxing is a thing too).

Either, you believe that $37T in debt, 125% debt/GDP, interest expense at >20% of tax receipts, NIIP of -90%/GDP, 7% pro-cyclical deficits and mandatory spending >100% of tax receipts is sustainable...

Or, you believe that it is clearly not, and the US must therefore actually become productive on a net basis again (shocking concept, I know).

The issue is not that Trump has sought to address debt-fueled overconsumption by making America net-productive again--

The issue, is that for decades, our so-called 'leaders' have attempted to defy financial gravity for so long, that any attempt to become net-productive, will have utterly disastrous effects. They have hollowed out your country, its economy, and its middle class and financed it via ever-inflating asset bubbles (including in that house that you cant afford to buy).

That cheap plastic trinket from Alibaba might seem great, until you realize the cost:
-Your youth have been buried under an insurmountable debt pile to raise dollars (to cover deficits)
-These dollars are then exported to RoW to pay for your trinket (the chief export of your once great country is now, debt collateralized by your youth)
-RoW then buys NVDA at an 80 P/E, making the top 1% wealthy-asset holder class extremely rich

You get:
-Hollowed out, rusted towns
-Decades of declining real wages
-Historic wealth inequality
-Booming asset bubbles (which you can't afford to participate in)
-Suicide rate at levels not seen since the Great Depression

pedestrian pursuits when collapsed into their implication signs in the action space become trivial. there is no great romance in the balancepilled chillmaxxer life.

when nietzsche proclaimed “i know of no better life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and the impossible”, he captured something more nuanced than just “do big things lil bro”

the parsimonious definition of a normie is a universal chillmaxxer; laced invariant throughout all their pursuits and thoughts is the lack of willingness to give it an asymmetric amount of themselves. more nuanced than that, the real invariance is the lack of understanding and want to be able to experience more than just traditionally defined human boundaries. terrified of being contrarian and standing out, truly owning their thoughts…people oneshot themselves with fear.

i was reflecting and almost everyone truly exceptional i know had an awakening that turned them from a normie into something more; the unsatiable urge to chillmaxx with your boys every tuesday night was replaced with a hunger and thirst to suffer so that they may become more.

is this a blessing or a curse?

an example of this is the canonical rich kid, no real tangible suffering beyond “omg i feel so lost, everything’s already sorted out”. you know what’s the real loss? the lack of the ontological appetite to push into the unknown, whatever it takes. is it a curse to never experience drive? to never experience what fire feels like? to never experience variance? no deep failures nor enchanting victories?

in math, once you know the trick to prove a theorem, you move onwards; there is beauty in coming up with the algorithm, there is minimal in executing it. when everything is trivial and can be “solved” in our heads, every action and its subsequent can be mapped out, it is a trivial pursuit. life is lived on the knife’s edge riding stochasticity, the second your outcome space becomes deterministic, what is the point of being alive?
