Things might have changed in the last year I wasn’t there but we load every crew bag a certain way based off load planning as well as bag type. Just based on personal knowledge and experience

@akuhayum Also the color of the bag really doesn’t matter, the crew for each flight has a specific tag placed on their baggage sticker to identify who’s bag is crew, priority, first class, transfer, or local baggage.

@akuhayum The red bags belong to the flight crew operating the actual aircraft. The reason they are loaded first is so once they arrive at their next destination, the people who transports all bags to baggage claim, can quickly get their bags up quickly if they have another flight to catch

@akuhayum Just because the bags get loaded first and taken off last does not mean they are thrown up the conveyor belt last. One agents reach those last bags which are marks differently, by bag tag, they are placed into a separate cart or container and thrown on the conveyor belt first

@VanessaVeasley @akuhayum On small domestic flights sure, but longer international flights or multiple destination flights which the pilots typically operate have to bring a full suitcase for a few days of travel. Larger aircraft’s such as a350 have a space below which is just for pilots to rest
