We’ve had a look at the splitting land in Iceland - in near darkness(!) and then tested our Icelandic knowledge with a quiz before we set out to explore fully tomorrow! Well done everyone!

Super visit to a very windy Thingvellir to see the continental plates rifting! Impressive waterfalls and a chance to see the ‘Rock of Law’ of Iceland. Off to see the geysir now!

Breathtaking views at Gulfoss and spectacular to see Strokkur erupt! The natural world is very inspiring and our geographers are having a great time exploring it!

Fascinating trip to Fridheimar Greenhouse to see how the geothermal energy in Iceland is used to produce tomatoes. The role of bees to pollinate was amazing to see. Trying to find the queen was harder than we thought though!

After practicing our orienteering skills last night finding our cottages in rural darkness we have had a hearty breakfast this morning before setting off to tackle our glacier hike!

We all made it the top. Some of us conquered some fears in the process and showed real resilience! The spectacular scenery was well worth it!

@jungle1249 @bluelightcard @Officer1829 Having worked in both I would say it’s swings and roundabouts. Thankfully my husband has a blue light card, so I won’t personally miss out but it would be nice to see the scheme extended 👍

@SEckhardtDrama @ICT_MrP Im so disappointed that we have been excluded- we teach too, worked super hard in the pandemic & contribute to our communities. On a similar note, those teachers who work in colleges deserve this perk too!
