I might get scoffed at for saying this but it was a something I felt deep so I might as well.
Until a decade or more so ago, I remember thinking that people, including celebs, who had commercially beautiful looks with amazing proportions and all were just gifted and diamonds in the rough and the majority of people (like myself) would idolize them but know we all had different gifts in life, and maybe super good looks wasn't one of them, but somehow we could accept that as fact and learn to cope.
Now, I look at media and socials and the general public and we're being fed AI generated beauty standards and extreme filters and it's like we're mindcontrolled into thinking that's what the average person should look like and
here I am getting my makeup done to do an artist photoshoot and I'm staring at my raw stills and it just sinks in like, I've never been super confident about my appearance anyways and it just kinda sucks that we're all made to feel like it's not okay anymore to be kinda mid
Maybe it's just me and maybe everyone else is adapting fine to this change in society but I just hope we don't forget that in the end we're just humans and that's what we're meant to look like
Like please. At the very least, have the humanity to use actual humans in your ads marketed toward young humans
