About a 90% effort here, went out slowly and finish was fairly comfortable- feel I’m good for 1:15 with a decent push! Unfortunately since you can’t win without carbs in intense activities, I guess I’ll have to settle with just being the fastest guy in the world ever at my age! 😜
@UAHCHE I’ve been focusing on 1k and also Olympic lifting and sprinting on track as of late so my top end speed is a little rusty for a 500, need to get low pull back to 1:03/4 ish before really going after a 500 again
In a time when it seems like everyone is resorting to pharmaceutical to get the physique they want, I’m here to say you can get a pretty decent result without it! But you need to be disciplined, consistent, intelligent and learn to
listen to your body. Don’t let those that tell you that you need to dial down the intensity as you age. Intensity still needs to be high, but you just need to dose it appropriately!
This little worm has the potential to devastate the beef industry in the US. We’ve watched it slowly migrate up from South America and through Mexico over the last year or so. It should never have been allowed to reach US soil!
GROUNDBREAKING: Study on ketogenic diet for anorexia, from @GuidoFrank & team:
W/ ketogenic diet - 72% of patients didn't meet criteria for anorexia after 14 weeks. Let that sink in.
Standard of care gets 0-25% remission. Partial hospital programs move EDE-Q scores from 4.08 to 3.09. This UCSD trial moved them from 4.11 to 1.72, below the clinical cutoff for anorexia nervosa.
The mechanism: anorexia may be a metabolic disorder. Brain glucose metabolism is dysregulated. The drive to restrict isn't purely psychological, it's a fuel problem, and ketones bypass that entirely.
Also, no weight loss. Everyone in the eating disorder field was afraid of that. Average BMI actually increased slightly.
"I wish I had known about this treatment years ago." "I did not think I could change." These are people with chronic anorexia who had been through multiple treatment centers.
Anorexia has one of the highest mortality rates of any psychiatric disorder and no approved biological treatment. This is the most promising data the field has seen in a long time.
Metabolic psychiatry is coming for every diagnosis conventional psychiatry couldn't crack.

A case of NWS may have been detected in South Texas. The sample is now at USDA's National Veterinary Services Laboratories (NVSL) in Ames, lowa for confirmatory testing. We will provide updates the moment results are available.
We have already activated personnel on the ground and are working with local partners.
What you can expect from us is transparency, candor, and most important — action.

Many will say that low carbohydrate diets are unsustainable!
I’ve got about 15 years and continue to do it because I feel better and perform better on low carb
How about you? How long and why continue?
