🌏 Tonga has signed and ratified the #CTBT, completing universalisation of the Treaty
across the Pacific region. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, 7 July at UN Headquarters in New York, a landmark moment for 🇹🇴, for the Pacific, and for the global effort to ban nuclear test explosions. The Treaty now counts 188 States Signatories and 179 ratifying States.

#CTBTO International Data Centre (#IDC) analysis of signals from more than 25 stations in the International Monitoring System (#IMS) network recorded two seismic events on 5 October 2024 (IDC mb = 4.0 & 4.2) at 03:29 and 19:15 UTC. These recorded waveforms are consistent with previous earthquakes in the northern region of #Iran 🇮🇷.
