Please join the upcoming Ashby + North Berkeley BART community meeting on Monday August 31st from 6:00-8:00. This is our opportunity to push for maximizing transit-oriented housing for everyone at both Ashby and North Berkeley BART.
We can also help shape the design for Ashby BART and Adeline Street. We have specific planning concepts to advocate for including: the 2-lane option, space for Flea Market, ground floor retail, and of course, maximize housing!
Well done, SBN! members!! Your letters dominated public comment at last Wednesday's Adeline Plan subcommittee meeting. Check out all the letters we sent at: https://t.co/mmouql9NaS
From the 'Supplemental Communications Packets' in Wednesday's agenda. Also in this: LOTS of letters from @SBerkeleyNow members. https://t.co/YkZYsHCl3A
The Adeline Plan Subcommittee is wrapping up its final draft, and many of the new recommendations could threaten the likelihood of new housing and slow streets ever being built in our neighborhood. (thread)
Please take a moment to send a message to the city council at [email protected]. Let them know you oppose Item 39 linked below. (5/5)

The City Council will vote on a measure Tuesday night that, if approved, would reduce both the feasibility of housing development in South Berkeley AND the amount of funding for the Housing Trust Fund which funds affordable housing for low income residents. (1/5)
Significantly, this measure is also opposed by our non-profit affordable housing allies because reducing fees going to the Housing Trust Fund means less non-profit low-income housing can be built. (4/5)
