Judge Cassim Moosa has warned Tsakani Matlala (accused No. 4 and wife of alleged crime boss Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala) of the prescribed minimum sentence as her attempted murder trial got underway alongside her husband and three co-accused.

Tsakani faces charges as an accessory in the 2023 failed assassination attempt on socialite Tebogo Thobejane (among other counts in a 25-charge indictment that includes multiple attempted murders, conspiracy, money laundering, and fraud linked to alleged hits on Thobejane, taxi boss Joe Sibanyoni, and music producer Seunkie “DJ Vettys” Mokubung).
