The problem arises when purchasing your product is even more inconvenient.

- Cost beyond what a working person is reasonably willing to pay (*)
- Not on the customer's preferred platform
- Insufficient supply
- No longer available
- Not available in your area/country

These make piracy the more appealing option.

(*) Remember that you are competing with other forms of entertainment for a customer's *discretionary* income. Not the gross, not the net, only that tiny little part that might be left after taxes and essential living expenses.
Other entertainment that might include food, beer, cigarettes...
You're competing against those on a 'per-hour of distraction' basis.
