Earlier today, Professor Christian Aalkjรฆr from Aarhus University gave a lecture sponsored by SPS.ย
The lecture was called "Transport of negative ions over cell membranes, a positive story" and created good engagement among the audience.
From September 4th-6th, SPS is gratifyingly attending "Physiology in Action 2024".

The 2025 recipient of the Ulf von Euler Prize bestowed for excellence in physiology is Professor Lena Eliasson from Lund University โจ

The 2025 recipient of the Chr. Bohr Prize bestowed for a lifetime achievement of excellence in physiology is Professor Walter F. Boron from Case Western Reserve University.
Professor Boron will receive the award at the IUPS/Europhysiology 2025 in Frankfurt, 11-14 of September.
Day 2 at #PhysiologyinFocus2024 has been full of fantastic presentations, inspiring training hub sessions, another great SPS prize lecture, and a conference dinner at St. James Park.

โจ Kai Kaila receives the Ulf von Euler prize 2024 โจ
Kai Kaila - professor in neurobiology - gave his lecture "GABAergic signaling as a coordinating factor in brain development and disease" this morning.
The prize is given for excellence in physiology.
Professor Barbara Cannon receives the Chr. Bohr Prize 2024 ๐ป๐
Barbara has been a world-leading expert in the function and biochemistry of brown adipose tissue for more than 50 years.
The prize is the most prestigious one of SPS and is given as a lifetime achievement award.

SIG meetings, an SPS prize lecture, symposia and a poster session are on today's programme.
We are looking forward to a meeting filled with physiology and networking!
On May 30-31, the SPS Board met with the Editorial Team of Acta Physiologica in Berlin ๐ฉ๐ช
The meeting provided an opportunity to see new and familiar faces and discuss various topics around Acta Physiologica.
