The results are in: Street homelessness in the City of L.A. dropped by 14% since 2023. 📉✨
According to the recent LAHSA 2025 Homeless Count Results, Los Angeles has seen a staggering 14% drop in homelessness over the past few years.
This progress is proof that our collective investments in affordable housing and mental health services are making a real impact. Measures like ULA and A were major win and now, we must keep pushing to ensure they’re fully implemented. But the fight isn’t over.

SB 21 (the Protecting People, Saving Single Room Homes Act) PASSED THE SENATE BY A UNANIMOUS VOTE OF 39-0.
Huge thank you to our incredible partners and the CA Senators who stood up for low-income, elderly, and disabled residents who rely on SROs as their last line of housing.
This is why Measure ULA is crucial to the City of Los Angeles, as its continued funding of affordable housing will remain intact. SCANPH is tracking the budget process closely and keeping our members updated as it moves through hearings, public comment, and council votes.
The City of LA has released its 2025 proposed budget — suggesting 1,600+ layoffs and major program cuts to close a $1B deficit.
But for housing, there’s a proposed $8.5M increase to the Housing Department budget and a potential for new positions to open up.
