If only that were true. I wish this was all just a bad dream.

Outside of my sim racing and motorsport bubble, all I see on X these days is division, aggression, desensitization, threats, fear-mongering, voyeurism, exhibitionism, schadenfreude, and hate. And it’s all being justified under the banner of “freedom of speech.”

Yes, of course, there are problems in the world, but we need to SOLVE them together - not turn them into violence against someone through tweets. In other societies, they’ve been dealing with far more severe issues for ages than anything we face in the Western world. We have food, water, medicine, and yet, we somehow believe we have the hardest life on earth.

I don’t like everything that happens in the world either. But I tolerate it - as long as no laws are broken. When they are, that’s when the rule of law steps in. But populists no longer accept that. They demand that the rule of law aligns with their opinions - so we’re completely lost if we let it come to that. First doubting the facts, then doubting or changing the laws. We must not allow it to go that far.

I’ve spent a long time thinking about how to resolve this paradox. After all, I believe in free speech too. But here’s the crucial difference: I think the founders of constitutions and basic laws always envisioned free speech intertwined with a sense of truth. I doubt anyone could have imagined that opinion would replace concepts like truth, facts, and objectivity - and that blatant lies could be told publicly, especially by those who, due to their roles or wealth, should be held responsible.

Populists have mastered the art of sowing chaos by lying, denying facts, and twisting realities. Normal people can’t cope with this chaos, and then the blame for it is conveniently shifted onto minorities by those very chaos-stirrers. They only need the majority - whether political, economic, or otherwise - to push through their own interests.

This is the mess we’re stuck in now, and it’s almost unbearable.

We’ve advertised on X, but we’re far too small for the platform to care if we stop. Yet, it’s natural not to want to abandon the accounts we’ve built up through hard work over time. We keep hoping that somehow, this nightmare will end. But it probably won’t.

This situation weighs heavily on my mind. For now, we’ll continue communicating about our topics as usual, but maybe the time will come when we’ll need to disconnect from this digital decay - because it’s sure to lead to some very dangerous actions.

From sports, we learn: Together we are stronger, even when we’re on different teams. We need an accepted set of rules. We need fair referees. And after the competition, winners and losers shake hands. In real life, this means democracy. And free speech is part of that. I just had to get that off my chest.

HAPPY 255 DAY!

25 May, the magical day at LFM.

Why?

First of all, it's our CEO @BorisSchalk's birthday! The whole team congratulates him and wishes him a great day.

On the same day in 2023, he founded our company 255 Systems, which celebrates its first anniversary today.

And this year again on the same date, we can announce that our German Twitch channel @lowfuelmotorsport_de has now become a @Twitch partner.

A big thank you goes out to Boris, without whom LFM would not exist, to all contributors, to our partners and especially to you, the community, without whom, of course, none of this would have been possible.

What a great finale for the @Caseking PRO Series!

A real thriller with changing conditions and a ton of top class racing tactics, we couldn't have imagined the finale any better.

@JaroslavHonzik takes a well deserved win after a fantastic race, he tried everything to support his @VeloceEsports teammate Boothby in the championship chase, even giving up his position in the race to Boothby at one point.

In the end, it wasn't enough for @ukogmonkey, and in true fair play he gave back first position to Honzik. In a very good season, Boothby ends up 100 points behind of Naujoks.

@n1lyn had to stay cool, surrounded by some Veloce Esports drivers, he had to finish at least P5.
It almost went wrong when Naujoks lost a few seconds in the pits because his pit crew had to push him into the right position.
