@DirtyMoMedia Spot off. The higher horsepower made for better racing, and the intermediate package still had brake failures. It’s on the teams to decide how far they want to go with their brake pad and cooling setups. The brake failures are not the fault of the aero and engine packages.
@DonderLeNasHawk Hamlin should’ve ran better in these past two races then. Everybody’s playing by the same rules. Every point matters each and every race. If you fail to score stage points and don’t consistently finish high enough, you’re going to fall back behind the drivers that capitalize.
@ryinn24@MattWeaverRA Part nature of the track with the heavy braking zones and larger corner/straightaway speed differential, and part of it being the teams not bringing a good enough brake pad compound and allowing the brakes to get enough cooling from the brake ducts in favor of higher downforce.
@WINTHERACEP1@jeff_gluck Despite the chaos, on the green flag runs it was exciting. The track was racy and you could pass with a calculated move into the corners or a run off the corners. I think too many people under-appreciate Gateway for it being a pretty decent track to race at.
@Ch9seFan@NASCAR@KyleLarsonRacin If you can’t tell the difference, then you need to get your eyes checked. Winning matters with the extra bonus points, but stage points and consistency also play a huge factor. Kyle had a 73 point day, just 3 shy of the max. Next closest Chase driver had 54. Points matter.
@Jasonslc801@jeff_gluck@NASCAR The races themselves are never streamed on the app itself. They’re on the actual broadcast channel. Look up if your current provider carries it, otherwise basically every main streaming service will carry it.
@Damonwilliam14@RobsSportsShow@jeff_gluck So what’s the difference between the phantom debris cautions and stage breaks? There isn’t any. Now we have the stages and no random cautions. Strategy is still going to matter at some point in the race. It’s just at a different time now.
@_1017__@shawnkmorse@jeff_gluck Only because the entire back half of the field got trapped a lap down with the caution right in the middle of a pit cycle, and never got the chance to recover. That can happen at any short track too.
@DougShumwa4851@FreddieKraft@Allthingsfast89 Drag and downforce matters more for passing at superspeedways than power. Less drag means more of a chance for you to make a run for a pass when you jump out of line. They’re still making more power than the prior generation cars did at these tracks.
