Last night's sky with the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter now moving away from each other, and the crescent moon made an appearance near Venus. The inset photo is a heavily zoomed in crop from the same photo showing Jupiter and two of its moons.

Last night's conjunction of two of the brightest worlds in the night sky - Jupiter and Venus. Look to the west shortly after sunset and you can still see them.

Last Wednesday the Super Hunter's Moon arrived. I already have many Super/Full/Eclipsed Moon pics so I decided to try Comet C/2023 A3. We have so much light pollution that I couldn't see it with my eyes, but the camera did a fine job.

While the Northern Lights were nowhere near as spectacular as the show back in Michigan (and other points north) we were able to see them in San Antonio, and it was pretty epic!

My hope was to get a picture of the Super Blue Moon as it rose above the horizon. Unfortunately, clouds along the horizon had other plans. The sun knew that the moon was going to steal the show tonight, so the sun put on a warmup act of its own. @natwxdesk#SuperBlueMoon2024
San Antonio drone photographer Lalo Garcia’s recent work at @OfficialAlamo is breathtaking! He was my partner on some of the most memorable breaking news stories I covered in local TV news and it was a pleasure collaborating with him again. Enjoy sunrise at the Alamo ☀️⬇️
Braved the blazing heat today to try out my new solar filter. I don't have a telescope to which I can attach my camera, but I think this will work perfectly for taking pictures of the annular eclipse next month and the total eclipse next April 8th.
Last evening I went out to go get a shot of the Full Blue Super Moon. On the way, I had to pull the car over and grab a shot of the sunset. The sun didn't want to be outdone by the moon so it put on a spectacular show setting the stage for the moon.
