@Chris_Gammell@HeathRaftery Just tried it in mint, fresh install cinnamon 21, installed python3-is-python python3-usb then added my user to lp group (usermod [username] -a -G lp ) installer inkscape-silhouette.deb reboot and it plotted for me, need matplotlib for the preview
@Chris_Gammell It's a great machine, but not as useful as I was hoping. On Linux, so I've never used the official software, but inkscape plugin works as long as you aren't using snap inkscape. Weeding and transferring text is infuriating
@cd0@realdoctormo I shut down my last debian server a year ago, always loved it for servers, but a little too out of date out of the box for the daily. Demo with arch has been fun, but it feels like I'm just waiting for it to bork. It has been a lot easier than last time, but still jumpy
@realdoctormo@cd0 I completely agree, everybody should use the non snap version of everything, but that isn't Ubuntu's long term plan. Everything being pushed immutable like core.
@cd0 It's so terrible. I'm testing arch on a 2 core Ultrabook and it's so much faster than the 20thread 12gen running 22.04. just trying to get extensions working on snap inkscape made me angry.
Touring band bought a 70s Italian folding moped on the road, I just got it running for them, now it just won't idle. Not many music venues have a mechanic on duty
I've been using Drupal for 16 years for various projects, I selected my current webhost 15 years ago because they had a 1click installer, now the are a WordPress affiliate and page load times are unbearable. Started looking at Hugo and Jekyll but my brain doesn't want to
