I am saddened by reports that more than 160 people have lost their lives, with many others injured, following the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia yesterday.

My solidarity is with the people & Government of Colombia & I send my condolences to the families of the victims.

I wish a speedy recovery to all those affected, as reports emerge of collapsed homes & other significant damage, and as the authorities work to assess the full impact.

Synthetic biology is one of the most rapidly evolving areas of bioscience and technology.

At #SBSTTA28 a side-event dedicated to capacity-building on #SynBio highlighted the need to ensure that all Parties to the CBD can engage in a safe, informed and equitable manner.

At #SBSTTA28, @SchomakerAstrid met with @ChemichemiF . Their Braille translation of the #KMGBF is a powerful reminder that biodiversity action must be accessible to everyone. Inclusion is key to delivering on #Target21 & #Target22.
