A new era has begun in school education today with the oath taking by Chairman, Vice Chairman and Members of the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). I am glad to witness the event. I appreciated 60 years of service by SEBA and 40 years of service by AHSEC which will be now history. The ASSEB will now shoulder secondary education, from course design to conduct of examination. I appealed to the new board to focus on integration of skill training with school education and reduce dropout rate.

Due use of different name for the same or similar engineering courses in different state and central institutions, both the recruiting authorities and candidates are facing problems in selection. To resolve the issues, we constituted an Expert Committee to suggest equivalency of degrees across various Technical Universities and Institutions, including @IITGuwahati , NIT, Silchar etc. The 27-member committee presented its report to me today at Janata Bhawan which was thoroughly reviewed.. The Assam Govt will issue notification soon.

Another model graduate college has been established in the Barak Valley today. This effort is part of an ongoing initiative to enhance the higher education sector in Barak, which now has a total of seven model graduate colleges.

Samagra Shiksha Assam organized the third exposure trip for students as part of the Arohan program. The third batch of students from Nalbari, Golaghat and Chirang visited the Guwahati Biotech park, interacted with the professors at the @IITGuwahati campus and explored the @AIIMS_Guwahati.

Samagra Shiksha Assam extends its heartfelt thanks to the Todi Foundation, USA, and Shree Bhagawan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) for their invaluable support in providing custom-made Jaipur Artificial Limbs and Jaipur Calipers to children with special needs.
The collaborative effort led to the organization of camps across various districts in Assam, with the latest camp in Sivasagar benefiting seven children with special needs.
