Southgate School are incredibly proud of all our Year 11 students for their hard work and dedication to their studies; students collected their results this morning and it was such a privilege to see all of their efforts pay off
The Manchester Grammar School is celebrating another year of outstanding A-level results. 37% of all grades were at A* level; 73% of grades were A*-A and 93% of grades were A*-B. 42 boys achieved three or more A*, and 114 achieved three or more A grades.

As always we hit the ground running in September with auditions for our new whole school production, which will be performed in January 2026.
All students in Years 7-13 are invited to audition, which will involve acting and singing. We will advertise dates for the auditions

As the academic year draws to a close, the Local Governing Body would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest thanks to Mr Lavelle for his exceptional leadership and service to Southgate School.
We are proud of 720 students that took part in sports day. Students played dodgeball, competed in nerf throw, tug of war, basketball free throw, Boccia, nerf throw, & standing long jump.

1/ Yesterday evening I went to the retirement do for this legend, Mr Martin Lavelle (Headteacher @SchoolSouthgate)
He was the first Headteacher to take a punt on me as a senior leader back in 2012 at Whitefield (now @Clarion_School).
We took a lovely group of year 7 and 8 girls to the Enfield Love your park sports 🏏 festival for girls.
They took part in a variety of sports and the weather was great for it! ☀️ ☀️
The Sixth Form Student Leadership Team and a selection of Year 12 students organised a fundraising football match between Year 12 students and staff/ex-students on Wednesday 9th July.
The event was a huge success raising over £350 for our Sixth Form Facilities Fund
The Sixth Form Team ran a trip to the University of Cambridge Open Day on Thursday 10th July for our aspiring Oxbridge candidates.
The trip was a wonderful day for students who have already begun their applications.
To recognise National Thank a Teacher Day, it was an honour to send nominations to the National Teaching Awards.

🏃 We are thrilled to share some amazing news with you regarding our School Run Championship Race
🏃♂️ ROBIN GREENWOOD ran the 1 mile course in 5:29 and broke the school record of 5:33.
JAGNA FALKOWSKA ran the course in 6:21 and broke the school record of 6:25
Our Year 9 and 10 girls represented Enfield in the London youth Games futsal tournament.
They came 4th out of 20 boroughs in London. We are so proud of every pupil who participated 👏
Congratulations to our talented Year 7/8 football team who played at the Chelsea training ground for the Middlesex Cup Final.
We are beyond proud that they came second and displayed excellent skills and teamwork.
