and @CPMR_Europe on #EUEnlargement and #Cohesion.

Ongoing discussions on the new 🇪🇺EU Cohesion Policy provide a window of opportunity to update and upgrade the EU – SEE6 relationship. As currently designed, Enlargement policy does not address #SEE6 convergence requirements with the EU.

A gradual SEE6 access to #EUcohesion policy toolbox before Membership, would:
🔹 Complement the strong Enlargement conditionality with Development solidarity
🔹 Make WB6 citizens and enterprises feel - now - the benefits of the EU integration process, instead of waiting for the full membership
🔹 Frontload partnership-based policy-making in the SEE6
🔹 Engage in ex-ante preparation of SEE6 institutions for full & efficient participation in EU Cohesion programs after Membership.
